It's estimated at least ONE QUARTER of the UK use alternative medicine

The RESEARCH COUNCIL FOR COMPLIMENTARY MEDICINE (RCCM) wanted to know who is using complimentary alternative medicine in the UK.

According to the RCCM Strategy 2014 – 2018, Complimentary Alternative medicine (CAM) is now used by at least a quarter of the UK Population! The actual amount could be higher, and its anticipated it looks set to rise.

The RCCM seeks to advance public education through the promotion of peer reviewed research into complementary medicine

The RCCM's estimate is also echoed by a 2008 study by Felicity L. Bishop and G. T. Lewith from the Complimentary Medicine Research Unit at University of Southampton (Hampshire, UK)

"WHO USES CAM? A Narrative Review of Demographic Characteristics and Health Factors Associated with CAM Use". downloads.hindawi.com/journals/ecam/2010/102626.pdf

If you are suffering any condition for which you are taking prescribed medication, always seek the consent of your GP before commencing a programme of CAM (Complimentary Alternative Medicine). Reflexology and other CAM should be used in conjunction with regular prescribed medication as part of your overall healthcare plan
